Santa Goes Over the Edge at GreenStreet for Houston-Area Students
HOUSTON, TEXAS (November 19, 2013) – It’s not every day you can catch a glimpse of jolly ol’ St. Nick at work, but on Friday, December 6 at noon, GreenStreet and local nonprofit Playworks will team up to bring a unique holiday event to downtown Houston: Santa’s Play Hour. Come watch as Santa rappels down the side of a multi-story building in order to deliver a very special bag of goodies to a very deserving school, H.I.S.D.’s John J. Herrera Elementary.
Adding to the festivities will be the school’s students and head principal, who will be on-hand that day eagerly waiting Santa’s arrival on the ground-level. As St. Nicolas begins to make his descent towards excited crowds, GreenStreet will continue to keep the party going with live music, free giveaways and even a confetti cannon! Don’t miss this heart-warming moment as Santa enthusiastically presents to students an oversized red bag filled with sporting equipment, games and other playground toys – all generously donated by the GreenStreet tenants and the local community.
“Hosting an event like Santa’s Play Hour is just one of many ways we like to give back to the community,” says GreenStreet general manager Karen Mulville. “The outpour of support from organizers at Playworks as well as our GreenStreet tenants has been overwhelming and we look forward to seeing all the smiling faces from Herrera Elementary soon!”
Santa’s Play Hour is free and open to the public. If you would like to donate a toy to the cause, GreenStreet encourages all to stop by and drop off their contribution at participating tenant locations. As a reminder, everyone is invited to convene at the corner of Caroline and Dallas Street (near the House of Blues) to capture an image of Santa going over the edge for these Houston-area students!
To keep with the merriment, GreenStreet also would like to remind everyone to be on the lookout for a variety of specials and fun events happening this holiday season, including a special dinner at downtown’s favorite tapas restaurant Andalucia’s Tapas Restaurant and Bar. On Wednesday, December 11, the sultry restaurant along with the iconic tequila brand Don Julio Tequila, will feature its annual 5-course dinner for $59.95 per person. Enjoy decadent items such as lobster and escargot paella and blood orange glazed quail, all expertly paired with a variety of Don Julio tequila. Space is limited so be sure to reserve your spot today by calling 832.319.6673.
