GreenStreet and The Byke Project Debut “Destination GreenStreet” Bike Ride, Sept. 25
HOUSTON, TEXAS (September 18, 2013) – Hundreds of bicyclists are set to descend the streets of downtown on Wednesday, September 25 from 7 – 10:30 p.m. as GreenStreet (formerly Houston Pavilions) and The Byke Project team up to host Destination GreenStreet – a community bike event complete with bikes, music, interactive activities and more!
Open to cyclists of all skill-levels, the inaugural event will kick-off at 6 p.m. in front of Underdogs Pub, a local tavern and pub located at 4212 Washington Avenue where participants are encouraged to gear up and load up on cold beverages and snacks. Just as the sun begins to set, riders will then depart from the restaurant at 7 p.m. and embark on a 10-15 mile course throughout the city before concluding its journey at GreenStreet.
With an event fit for any cycling king, GreenStreet promises to keep the party going for Destination GreenStreet riders with everything from live music from DJ Ill-Set and a newly-minted yarn bomb art installation, to light bites and special tenant offerings throughout the evening. As an added bonus, The Byke Project also will be offering a variety of raffle prizes, bike contests, an interactive photo booth and even BMX demonstrations for participants.
“We’re excited to partner with GreenStreet to host our first Byke Project community event,” said Hector Garcia, The Byke Project founder and team rider. “With its ample space and central location, GreenStreet provides the ideal space for us to reach out to fellow cyclists and the Houston biking community. We hope our riders will enjoy the post-ride celebration and have a chance to see all the activity that’s happening at the complex.”
Bikers who wish to RSVP to the event can sign up on the Destination GreenStreet Facebook page. This event is FREE and open to the public.
